Staff reporter Ideas Party of Democracy party leader, Herbert Chamuka has condemned politically motivated violence targeted at the newly formed Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) led by Nelson Chamisa saying this should not be tolerated in the second republic.

Last week, the CCC party had all their rallies marred by violence with the Gokwe one disrupted by the police and the Kwekwe infiltrated by suspected Zanu PF youths who attacked supporters, leaving one dead and several CCC members seriously injured.

“We have by-elections happening, and we were disappointed by the violence that happened in Kwekwe, seeing people throwing stones at each other in the second republic,” he said.

Chamuka added that it may not be Zanu PF alone causing targeted violence on Chamisa since he has created a lot of enemies especially when he separated with MDC Alliance.

Turning to the Russia invasion of Ukraine, Chamuka said Russia was being a bully and is using dangerous weapons to destroy a weaker nation.

Chamuka said Russia is a big country well known to have massive destructive weapons.

“As a democratic leader I have seen that Putin is a dictator and he wants to destroy Ukraine including ants.”

He further stressed that those close to President Putin should advise him to respect people’s lives and not put the law into his hands.

“There are many ways to solve issues and relationships, but the way Putin has used to solve these issues is very disheartening and we last heard of these ways in the Era of Sadam Hussein and Idamini now this has showed that in this world dictators still exist, so we urge everyone to join forces and advise Putin to stop the invasion.”
