BY JAIROS SAUNYAMA POLICE in Marondera, Mashonaland East province, said they were investigating a case where a Form Two pupil was allegedly murdered by a sex worker he had hired for the night.

Tawonga Jeche (14) of Nyameni high-density surburb was found dead covered by blankets.

Police have since arrested the suspect Shauline Zvinhu (19), alias Wasu, in connection with the murder.

Provincial police spokesperson Inspector Simon Chazovachii confirmed the incident.

“A 19-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the murder of a 14-year-old boy. The police are still investigating the case,” he said.

According to police, on February 4 Jeche hired Zvinhu and went to his home.

The deceased’s mother was away in Masvingo when he hired the hooker who killed her after he failed to pay.

It is reported that during the night, a disagreement arose between the two, which resulted in a fight.

Jeche was allegedly overpowered and killed by the suspect.

She then left the scene, but she left behind her wig.

In the morning, Zvinhu met an unidentified police officer in the area and asked him to assist her in recovering the wig. They proceeded to the house and the police officer discovered that the house was broken into and ransacked. Zvinhu was then taken to the police station.

Police details visited the scene and discovered Jeche’s body in his mother’s bedroom covered with blankets and clothes.

He was bleeding from the nose and mouth while both hands and legs were tied with a bandage.

Zvinhu was arrested and is assisting police with investigations.
