FOUR suspected robbers appeared in court today after they were linked to a series of robberies that occurred in Harare since the beginning of this month.
Magistrate Yeukai Dzuda remanded the suspects – Alexio Mupamhura (26), Kallson Mabhonga (23), Tapiwa Zimbanda (31) and Emmanuel Matiza (23) – in custody to March 3 for a trial date.
Allegations were that on February 14 at 0350hrs, the quartet robbed the complainant of his Isuzu single cab vehicle along Quendon Road, Strathaven in Harare.
The State alleges that the quartet pounced on its first victim on February 9 and robbed him of a Subaru Legacy vehicle along Learoyd Road in Braeside.
On Feaburary 14, they blocked another motorist at Mazambezi flats, dragged him out, and robbed him of cash and a cellphone before driving off in their two getaway Honda Fit cars.
The following day, the suspects pounced at an office in Mount Pleasant, Harare armed with a pistol and iron bars after disarming a security guard.
They stole several office items including large sums of cash, electrical equipment, as well as company documents.

The accused persons were later spotted at Hukuru Farm near Ruwa sharing the spoils, leading to their arrest.
