36 year old nabbed for attempted rape

The accused, Danny Makiyi today appeared before Harare magistrate Yeukai Dzuda to answer to the rape charges.

BY TREVOR MUTSVAIRO A-HARARE man (36) has been arraigned before the courts for allegedly raping a female after trailing her movements in Glenview.

The accused, Danny Makiyi today appeared before Harare magistrate Yeukai Dzuda to answer to the rape charges.

He was remanded in custody to February 2 for bail application.

The rape allegedly happened on January 29 around 1600hours.  Makiyi is said to have suddenly appeared from a maize field after trailing his victim.

He threatened her with death, tripped her to the ground and ordered her to remove her clothes before raping her.

The complainant screamed for help and when some passers-by came to her rescue, he quickly vanished into the maize field.

He was later arrested.
