POLICE have arrested murder suspect Norman Rabu (47), of Ran Mine in Bindura, who was on the run after allegedly fatally stabbing his married girlfriend.

He was arraigned before Bindura regional magistrate Samantha Dhlamini to answer to a charge of fatally stabbing Joice Gonzo.

Dhlamini did not ask Rabu to plead to the murder charge. She remanded him in custody to February 3.

The State alleges that the now-deceased Gonzo invited Rabu to her matrimonial home during the night to discuss the alleged infidelity with her husband, Tobias Shuku (66).

Rabu was then ordered out of the house by Shuku following an argument.

Later that night, Gonzo allegedly sneaked out and went to Rabu’s house, where they had a heated argument. Rabu allegedly stabbed her in the stomach with a sharp object.

She was rushed to hospital, where she died on admission.
