THE Midlands State University (MSU) was recently crowned the best academic institution in human resources contribution at the Institute of People Management of Zimbabwe awards ceremony held in Harare.

“The university received the best academic institutions in HR Contribution award, which is awarded to institutions of higher learning that have contributed to the development of human resources over the years.”

Last year a Zimbabwean engineer and mining and mineral processing engineering graduate from MSU’s satellite Manicaland State University, Clever Sithole made history when he got appointed as head gemologist at a United States Agency for International Development-funded gemstone processing project in Afghanistan.

In recent years, MSU has won various awards that include the best development practitioners award after students in the development studies department won a debate competition in 2017.
