BY MAGRETH RUZVIDZO Glow Petroleum has clinched the 2021 Rainbow Amateur Netball League title following ZRP Mambas’ 54-39 win over Correctional yesterday.

The result yesterday had a bearing on the destiny of the league silverware and it worked in Glow Petroleum’s favour.

Both Glow Petroleum and Mambas are locked on 18 points but the former managed to secure the top slot with a better goal difference.

Correctional came third with 16 points.

Glow Petroleum coach Perpetua Siyachitema was over the moon with this win as they last won the 2016 Netball Super League title.

“I’m extremely excited, this win really means a lot to me as an individual and as a team. Our hard work and devotion really paid off,” Siyachitema said.

“Our journey was difficult since I started off with two of my shooters out as they were on national duty. And later we got a defeat from Tenax. From this loss we learnt that every match is crucial, we mustn’t underate,” she said.

Siyachitema is already planning for next season.

“I’m going back to the drawing board, beef up my team with maybe two more players for it to balance and work on my players pyschologically and physically so that we can defend our tittle,” Siyachitema said.

Meanwhile, RANL had scheduled to end their season in style with a Glow Cup in Hwange but this has been shelved until next year due to the surging COVID-19 cases countrywide.
