Police identify Mavuradonha Mountains death victims

Investigations so far revealed that the victims had left their homesteads in Manhondo village, Chief Chiswiti on November 3, 2021 intending to visit one of the victims Zuze’s in-laws in Dzivamupanda village.

BY HARRIET CHIKANDIWA POLICE yesterday identified the names of five people who were discovered dead by a hunter in Mavuradonha Mountains in Mount Darwin.

The deceased are members of one family.  They were found dead on November 22.

In a statement, police national spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the deceased were positively identified by their next of kin.

“The deceased are Junior Zuze (61) of Manhondo village, Chief Chiswiti, Mukumbura, Moleen Zuze (29) of Dzivamupamba village, Ever Nyamasoka a female juvenile, Joshua Wanga and Pardon Muteyaunga of Chief Chiswiti Mukumbura,” the statement read.

“Investigations so far revealed that the victims had left their homesteads in Manhondo village, Chief Chiswiti on November 3, 2021 intending to visit one of the victims Zuze’s in-laws in Dzivamupanda village.

“The bodies were conveyed to Mount Darwin District Hospital for onward transmission to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals for a forensic examination to establish the cause of the death,” Nyathi said.
