Triangle coach Taurai Mangwiro has revealed that they are adding Young Warriors goalkeeper Raphael Pitisi to their ranks as replacement for Ronald Mudimu who is currently hospitalised in Harare.
The Lowveld side did not replace Talbert Shumba when he left to join Nkana in Zambia last year and Mangwiro found himself in a fix when Mudimu fell ill ahead of the Chibuku Super Cup tournament.
Only Takabva Mawaya was at his disposal throughout the group phase campaign.
And to strengthen his goalkeeping department, the Warriors assistant coach opted to lure Pitisi back home from South Africa where he last played for Vodacom League side Ollesdas on loan from the then Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila FC, which later renamed to Marumo Gallants in the South African top-flight.
Pitisi has been a free agent since the end of his loan spell in July, with Marumo Gallants reluctant to give him a new contract.
“We are finalising with him because we need someone to take that position because Ronald (Mudimu) is not well at the moment,” Mangwiro said.
“Recently, we had to work with Takabva Mawaya alone because when Shumba left to join the Zambian league, we didn’t add a replacement.

“So that left a gap which has further been widened following Ronald’s case.
So we are taking Pitisi and we hope he will be a perfect replacement.
“We saw him during his time at TelOne in Gweru and we hope he will do us good considering that he has had some exposure while playing in South Africa.”
