A 21-YEAR-OLD notorious Mvurwi burglar was on Saturday slapped with an effective nine-month jail term by Guruve magistrate Rumbidzai Mugwagwa.

Tafadzwa Masarara broke into Rutendo Matukwa’s residence on March 4 this year and stole two blankets, a food warmer and two pots, among other valuables.

Masarara was arrested following a tip off to the police on June 4.

This was after a medical card belonging to Matukwa was seen in Masarara’s house and he was questioned, but he failed to give a satisfactory answer.

Matukwa was contacted and she identified some of her goods.

The total value of the stolen goods is estimated at $9 240, while the value of the property recovered is $2 940.
