SCRIPTWRITER and actor Junior “Twumbwiti” Jonasi has premiered his second production, The Place, three months after the release of his debut offering Chishuwo.

Jonasi, who gained fame as Twumbwiti through yesteryear television series Tunga, told NewsDay Life & Style that although the filmmaking journey has not been easy, he was happy with the positive response to his productions.

“My filmmaking journey started in April with Chishuwo.

“It was my dream to direct and produce stories that I script without any limits, but this is so hectic,” he said.

“I sacrifice money meant to sustain my family for the film business.

“I am, however, glad that I found people who believed in me and opted to work with me. I am happy our viewership is growing.”

Jonasi said his desire was to produce an online series and for the national broadcaster ZBC-TV.

“If God blesses me, I wish to produce an online series, and another for ZBC-TV,” he said.

“I would like to thank my crew, especially Kudzai Madanzi and Mike Tena for believing in me.”

Apart from directing the latest film, Jonasi also plays Tindo, a guy who gets in trouble with his boss after trying to impress the girl of his dreams, Kimberly (Priscilla Jokonya).

His bosses’ attitude, however, does not stop him since he had found true love.

Twumbwiti said the short film, which features Tinashe Foya, Jokonya, Grace Marangwanda, Melody Mutematsaka, Monica Mapurisa and Tinashe Machena, was inspired by the lifestyle of residents of Harare’s Southlea Park high-density suburb.

The film is available on YouTube, RealNass Productions.
