Striker Charlton Mashumba has joined four Zimbabwean compatriots at South Africa’s newly-promoted Premiership side Sekhukhune United.
Mashumba (29) has been confirmed on Sekhukhune’s Twitter account as their latest signing together with Ghanaian Edwin Gyimah.
Mashumba joins from Polokwane United.
“Sekhukhune United FC is pleased to announce the signings of the 29-year-old Charlton Mashumba (Polokwane City FC) and Edwin Gyimah (30) from Black Leopards FC ahead of the 2021/22 season. Babina Noko Let’s welcome our new signings,” the club tweeted.
Mashumba has played in South Africa since 2012, featuring for Jomo Cosmos and Highlands Park before a short unsuccessful stint with Algeria’s USM Alger in 2018. He bounced back at Jomo Cosmos before he joined Polokwane in 2019.
Sekhukhune, which is home to veteran goalkeeper Tapuwa Kapini, Walter Musona and McClive Phiri, recently signed another Zimbabwean Talent Chawapiwa from AmaZulu.
They are also targeting Evans Rusike, axed by SuperSport United, clubless Ovidy Karuru, whose contract with Black Leopards expired and goalkeeper Washington Arubi.
