Zim dancer explores regional markets

FORMER Victory Siyanqoba dancer Blessing “Stoxie” Nomthandazo Sibanda  is working on diversifying her art to suit diverse audiences.

The South Africa-based Stoxie told NewsDay Life & Style that she is open for collaborations with artistes across genres as she seeks to explore different regional markets.

“I am conducting my freelancing and working with Dance Motion, a young, vibrant, energetic and enthusiastic dance crew that specialises in entertainment in all functions one may think of,” she said.

Stoxie said her desire was to work with South African performers.

“I look forward to exploring different markets and audiences regionally. My mid-year projection on this endeavour is to begin working with the South African performers as well as conducting my freelancing in both Zimbabwe and South Africa,” she said.

Stoxie said she was happy with her progress in the competitive showbiz industry that has seen her winning the Best Outstanding Dancer Award at the Pumula Royal Arts and Community Awards in 2020.

“My journey is inspired by Sandra Ndebele and the South African drama Sarafina.

“So far, I am with Dance Motion and this crew really caught my attention, I loved their energy, strong expression and determination associated with their performance,” she said.

“Dance Motion scope is to thrill the crowd which is what I want to wow the audience. My first performance under them was in April at Honey Dew here in South Africa.

“We gave the audience our spectacular, unique and energetic performance. It greatly increased my passion in the industry.”
