Caps United clinch another sponsorship deal



HARARE football giants Caps United continue to make huge strides in their commercialisation drive following the launch of yet another deal with clothing manufacturer Kutaura Enterprises coming in as their official informal wear partner.

The Green Machine are borrowing the concept from European clubs such as Chelsea and Manchester United in England, among several others.

Since clinching a three-year partnership worth US$130 000 with beverages company Coover early last month, the Harare football giants went into another partnership with Advanced Innovation, which is involved in cybersecurity and software development, for the establishment of websites.

Yesterday, the club, taking a leaf from other top foreign clubs, went a step further to consummate another deal which will see their fans having the opportunity to put on the club’s informal wear.

The playing staff and administrators will also receive the regalia that includes golf T-shirts and caps.

Caps spokesperson Raymond Gonte said they were happy to enter into the marriage with the clothing firm.

He said they were in the process of establishing a shop where fans will be able to buy the club’s regalia.

“European team regalia are more prevalent in local shops than local club regalia. European clubs have the biggest sports manufacturers backing them.

“Fans are supposed to proudly showcase their love and support for their teams. Clubs are supposed to benefit financially from sales of memorabilia and regalia. Today, Caps and Kutaura Enterprises consummate their partnership, with the clothing manufacturer becoming the official informal wear partner to the Green Machine. This partnership will spearhead and come up with Caps-branded street wear or leisure wear to dress Makepekepe fans. We believe the clothing will inspire even non-football fans and rival fans to buy, given the beauty of the clothing items,” he

Gonte said the latest deal would spur them to continue striving to engage more commercial partners.
