EZIMNYAMA Dance Ensemble said they are honoured to be part of a stellar line-up of performers at the on-going Bulawayo Arts Festival (BAF) that roared to life on Tuesday.

Founded in 2009 by Bulawayo born young artistes led by Phibion Ncube, Ezimnyama dance ensemble said they were proud to showcase their talent at such a prestigious festival.

“When we talk of the Bulawayo Arts Festival we are talking about the beauty of our city, the cultural hub of Zimbabwe. It is our festival that we need the world to know that Bulawayo is one of the best cities through its people, dance and art,” Ncube said.

“We will be showcasing one of our craft called I Dance which celebrates our cultural diversity. We are so excited to be part of this event as it is our event in our city so missing out on it would be a disappointment.”

Ncube added; “Nothing is more exciting than being part of the promotion and development of the creative and cultural industry. We are honoured to have the opportunity to perform at the conference.”

President Emmerson Mnangagwa is expected to officiate at the festival tomorrow.

The  festival, which will largely remain digital due to COVID-19, will feature two main high-profile programmes, the launch of the Bulawayo Urban Heritage and Eco-Tourism Programme set for  tomorrow and the two day Creative and Cultural Industries Conference  from tomorrow to Friday.
