10 points, we are in: Antipas

Chicken INN coach Joey Antipas says his side needs two wins to the quarter-finals of the Chibuku Super Cup as it faces tricky Bulawayo Chiefs in a Group 3 tie this at Barbourfields Stadium this afternoon.

Antipas said his boys need to get their acts together and get positive results against Chiefs after playing a goalless draw against Highlanders last Sunday

“This is another tricky one. Highlanders were aggressive and they closed us down. We are still working on gelling and it is a process. For us to progress, we have to get positive results. It’s good that we have (Malvin) Gaki, (Ian) Nekati and (Obriel) Chirinda back. We just need 10 points and we are good to go and we are trying to get there. We know it will be difficult but we have to get our acts together,” Antipas said.

Antipas welcomes back defender Nekati, midfielder Gaki and striker Chirinda who missed the second game against the Bulawayo giants.

Nekati had a family bereavement while the other two were out injured.

Chicken Inn lead Group 2 with four points from a 2-0 win against Bulawayo City in their first game and the Bosso draw.

Bulawayo Chiefs are wary of Chicken Inn, whom coach Thulani Sibanda says have a strong side with a number of players in the national team.

“It is going to be a tough one. Chicken Inn have quality players. Look at how many players they have in the national team. Be that as it may, we will try our best. We will put up a fight,” Sibanda said.

His captain Kundishora Chakanyuka is still out with an injury while midfielder Joe Nyabinde was shown the red card in the 2-2 draw against Bulawayo City last week.

Panashe Shoko is doubtful while Hughe Chikosa will have to pass a late fitness test.
