THE Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC) has said that the prepaid electricity vending system could experience technical glitches between tomorrow and Friday because the power utility will be conducting routine maintenance of the system.

In a statement on Monday, ZETDC advised its customers to ensure they buy enough electricity tokens for that period.

“ZETDC would like to advise its valued customers that there will be interruption of the prepaid electricity vending system on Thursday, May 20, 2021, from 10:30pm to 6am on Friday, May 21, 2021, to facilitate routine maintenance of the system to ensure continued efficient service delivery,” the statement read.

“Customers on the prepaid channel are urged to ensure that they purchase enough power to avoid running out of credit during the maintenance period.”

The introduction of the vending system has helped in the decongestion of ZETDC banking halls as consumers could purchase tokens in the comfort of their homes.
