About 200 brands in the country will be unveiled and honoured at the Marketers Association of Zimbabwe (MAZ)’s 2021 Superbrand Business Breakfast tomorrow.

The much-anticipated annual event will take place in Harare under the theme: “Brand experience through omni-channel integration.”

MAZ operations and marketing manager Enia Zimunya said the breakfast meeting signified the second phase of the Superbrand award process.

“As you are aware, annually we host the Superbrand Business Breakfast to announce the Top 200 brands of the year. This comes after a nationwide research which is based on brand awareness,” Zimunya said.

She said before the unveiling of the brands, the adjudication committee had a chance to verify the shortlisting process and endorse the top brands of the year.

Chief executive officer of Cimas Group,  Vulindlela Ndlovu will be the guest of honour.

Zimunya said this year’s theme spoke to the need for enhanced customer experience across platforms.

“As we are all aware the COVID-19 fast-tracked the technological evolution and hence business had to quickly adapt to the new ways of conducting business. This has given more power to the customer, who now accesses corporates using any platform they feel like, at any given time.

“As a result, brands are now forced to integrate customer experiences across all customer touch points,” said Zimunya.

She highlighted that in line with the government regulations around COVID19, the Superbrand business breakfast will be held as a hybrid event with virtual as well as on-site participants.

Delegates participating online will do so via the Marketers Association page https://www.facebook.com/Marketers.Association.of.Zimbabwe or on Nash TV.

There are several processes in the research that leads to the Superbrand awards ceremony to be held on November 26 this year.

The Superbrand awards are one of the revered business awards in the country that recognise and reward brand excellence in Zimbabwe.

The Superbrand status strengthens a brand’s position, adds prestige, spotlights the brand in a competitive market and reinforces a brand’s value.

Delta Corporation was the Overall Superbrand Winner for the year 2020.
