MALE model Kudzanai Muronzi says he desires to inspire upcoming models and those struggling to launch their careers.
Muronzi, an accountant by profession, told NewsDay Life & Style that his love for the camera and eye for fashion swayed him into modelling.
“I feel that my ability in attracting a wide range of audience stretching from teenagers interested in ‘slaying’ in trendy street wear, casual look to older business executives’ classy looks qualified me into this fashion and modelling field,” he said.
“I have also observed that most male models focus more on the formal look, therefore, leaving the street wear market unattended. I am, therefore, able to bridge this gap and be one of the best in both of these extremes of fashion.”
The Chitungwiza-bred Muronzi said he was a model by passion and this earned him the title The Real Husband of Chinhoyi for partaking in runways and commercial pageants while he was a student at Chinhoyi University of Technology.
“I know how to define different preferences for distinct people and this makes it easy for me to be able to come up with concepts and outfits that attract diverse fashion lovers and business opportunities,” he said.
“I have done runways for clothing lines such as Pan Noire and Mufudzi Couture. I was also a nominee for Zimbabwe top models in 2019, as well as Chinhoyi finest models. I have also participated in the video of upcoming hip-hop artiste’s Treville Escobar titled Escobar.”

He has also worked with some new clothing brands which include Born Trappers, Adrenaline and Top Magazine, set to launch their apparel soon.
Muronzi said he had realised that the fashion and modelling industry was dominated by women, adding that men who take this path are usually underpaid and overlooked.
“It is hard for male models as they are left to create their own content for social media platforms. Women have more opportunities and agents are readily available to take them to the next step as compared to men,” he said.
“It is now that times are changing and men are slowly getting the recognition in the industry. In this regard, I would like to be the yardstick in the Zimbabwean modelling industry in both formal and street wear fashion to be one of the best living mannequins.
“I aspire to be able to influence people in the ways they dress, to be a role model to other up-and-coming models and give them confidence and hope, inspiring them to push for what they really want to do.”
