AFRO-FUSION artiste Ashton “Mbeu” Nyahora will tomorrow release a video titled Hauna Rudo which advocates for faithfulness and commitment in relationships.

The video will premiere on his YouTube platform.

Shot in Harare by Hastings Chiromo, the video which is a mixture of day and night scenes, stars vixen model Vanessa Sibanda.

In the video, the late Oliver “Tuku” Mtukudzi’s protégé and talented acoustic guitarist (Mbeu) cries about being deceived into believing his loved one over time, hustling daily to make ends meet, but feels unappreciated and used.

Having been caught up in a love storm before, the Mhodzi Tribe frontman told NewsDay Life & Style yesterday that the song was not inspired by his previous failed relationships.

“This is not a portrayal of personal experience,” he said with a chuckle. “As an artiste, I speak for the society, bringing to light the society’s daily ills.

“After giving this Hauna Rudo to our fans, there is another one coming soon as we finalise our fourth studio album The Mhodzi Diaries 2 set for release this year. I am going to make more music and we are going to deliver definitely as I have confidence in what we do.”

Mbeu’s career has been blossoming after he broke away from Norton-based group Tsvete in 2016 to launch his solo career and has emerged as one of the most sought-after artistes by both promoters and corporates.

He has since collaborated with a number of popular artistes, among them the late music icon and hero Tuku, whom he described as a mentor and father figure who nurtured and groomed him at his Pakare Paye Arts Centre in Norton.

The Norton-bred Mbeu, who claims to draw his inspiration from societal issues, has three albums under his discography, namely Hatizvimirire (2018), Hatikendenge (2018) and Mhodzi Diaries 1 (2019) and several singles such as Mavanga, Kunzi and Masanga.
