Over five hundred less-privileged families in Rushinga yesterday received groceries, blankets and sanitary pads from First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa’s Angel of Hope Foundation worth several thousands of dollars.

The Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (Potraz) also donated 50 laptops to five schools in the area at the same event.

Speaking during the donation, the First Lady said Angel of Hope Foundation had since partnered Potraz in order to give back to marginalised communities and the less privileged.

“May I take this opportunity to implore our churches to visit the elderly and assist them and pray for them. To the business community, I say it is your obligation to assist the less privileged,” she said.

She, however, said she was not pleased that her home province of Mashonaland Central topped the list in terms of child marriages.

“My rural home, what is wrong with you?” she asked.
