Author unveils career guidance book

LOCAL author, motivational speaker and television personality Blessmore Mandevhana has launched his sixth book titled Career Guidance, designed to equip students with skills to help them pursue their career

The author, who recently established a college, Beyond Today Academy, which offers lessons on public speaking, writing skills for authors and entrepreneurial studies, told NewsDay Life & Style that the book was meant to help students become aware of different career options before they enrol at universities.

“Career guidance is designed to prepare students for a lifetime of success. The exciting techniques, principles and effective exercises in this life-changing book equip individuals with the skills necessary to succeed in education, in their careers and increases student awareness of career options and attitudes that will set them apart, giving them a head start for college work,” he said.

Some of the topics tackled in the book include employability and communication skills, problem solving, time management, goal setting, narratives from successful professionals, how to study better in less time and skills for starting one’s own business.

Mandevhana said the book was meant to augment his initiative of supporting the youth in Zimbabwe and Africa.

“It’s high time I lift the flag of my nation, I am now doing international seminars. In a few days, we are heading for Malawi and Tanzania and from January to March we are going to cover about five countries,” he said.

Mandevhana has published four books — God is the Answer 1 and 2, Secrets of Entrepreneurs and Transformational Leader and has contributed to another, Tetrad of Positive Affirmation.
