A NOTORIOUS Concession robber was sentenced to two years in prison yesterday by a magistrate for assaulting three different people with a machete and a broken bottle before robbing one of them of $160.

Luckmore Karicheredzi will serve 14 months behind bars after magistrate Ruth Moyo conditionally suspended 10 months of the sentence.

Prosecutor Kumbirai Nyamvura told the court that on March 20, Karicheredzi demanded cash from Calvin Chatambudza (27) to buy a mixer for his illicit brew but he refused.

The convict pulled a machete and assaulted the complainant once on the chest.

He further demanded money from Ashy Tangawarima on July 6 before stabbing him with a broken beer bottle

On August 6, Karicheredzi robbed Laston Chahiwa of his $160 bond notes after assaulting him with a machete.

Meanwhile, a suspected Mutare armed robber was at the weekend nabbed by police officers who were using sniffer dogs.

Desmond Kamudimu (24) yesterday appeared before magistrate Lazurous Murendo who remanded him in custody to September 29.

According to prosecutor John Munyurwa, on September 20, 2019 the accused person was drinking beer at Mandisa Night Club.

Kamudimu reportedly drew a machete from his trousers and started fighting with a fellow patron. Police in Mutare were, however, tipped of the incident and came with dogs to arrest Mudimu.

The accused ran away before he was nabbed by sniffer dogs in the central business district.
