FC PLATINUM gaffer Norman Mapeza will miss their Castle Lager Premier Soccer League trip to Harare against Black Rhinos at the National Sports Stadium tomorrow.

In his absence, first team assistant Lizwe Sweswe will take charge of the defending champions. FC Platinum confirmed the development via their official Facebook platform.

“This weekend our head coach Norman Mapeza will be unavailable. We wish him a speedy recovery.

“In his absence, coach Lizwe Sweswe will be in charge,” reads the post.

The platinum miners will be hoping to keep their winning momentum as they seek to extend their lead at the apex of the PSL standings.

The last time Mapeza was absent, last season, the team had a terrible run of results, which almost cost them the title.

It is not clear for how long Mapeza will be away, but the team will be hoping that he returns to the team as soon as possible.

FC Platinum are also preparing for their Caf Champions League preliminary round one clash away to Nyasa Bullets of Malawi next weekend, a team coached by former Warriors and Dynamos coach Kalisto Pasuwa.

Midfielder Never Tigere is also out of the Rhinos match as he travelled to Mauritius with the Warriors for an African Nations Championship qualifying match at the weekend.

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has shelved three league matches this weekend, including the Bulawayo derby between Highlanders and Bulawayo Chiefs that has been set for Sunday.

Chicken Inn’s match against Herentals and the Triangle versus Yadah Stars game have also been postponed.

This is because some of the clubs have three or more players that travelled with the Warriors to Mauritius for the qualifier set for Sunday.

The PSL rules state that if a club has three or more players on national duty, they can choose to have their matches postponed.

The Warriors left the country yesterday ahead of the clash on Sunday.
