The Love Never Fails annual convention of Jehovah’s Witnesses gets into high gear, with a bumper three-day programme beginning today in Harare and Chitungwiza, respectively.

The spokesperson for the Witnesses in Zimbabwe, Effort Mugabe, said the delegates would enjoy a rich and diverse spiritual programme.

Today, the programme focuses on how to strengthen love despite problems such as a troubled upbringing, chronic illness, or poverty. Through a series of short documentary videos about the natural world, delegates will see evidence of God’s love. Tomorrow, the programme will consider Bible principles that are helping husbands, wives, and children to show unfailing love for one another.

Mugabe said on the final day on Sunday, the public Bible discourse, True Love in a Hate-Filled World—Where?, will make clear how showing love is helping millions of people worldwide to overcome prejudice and hatred.

“The highlight of the conventions this year is a Swahili programme at Tongogara Refugee Camp, Venda in Beitbridge, Chitonga in Binga and Chinese for Mandarin speakers. Other languages include French, English, Ndebele, Zimbabwe Sign Language and Shona,” Mugabe said.

The conventions which started in mid June will run every weekend through October 13 at different locations around the country. Delegates will also enjoy a feature film titled: The Story of Josiah: Love Jehovah; Hate What Is Bad about the Bible character, Josiah, who grew up surrounded by bad influences, but became known for his deeds of loyal love.

The film will be shown in two parts, on Saturday and Sunday. Mugabe added many of the conventions being held around the globe this year will host international delegates and missionaries from around the globe, also boosting local tourism. The conventions will also demonstrate how love transcends racial, ethnic and political barriers, he said.
