UPCOMING Mutare-based Afro-gospel musician Gift Panganayi says he has discovered that music videos play a critical role in spreading the gospel, following the release of his video for the song, Waramba Jesu.

The song is off his new album titled, Sing Praise 24/7.

The devout 29-year-old Christian shot the video, off the 10-track album, at the scenic Old Mutare Mountains.

The musician told NewsDay Life & Style that the video has been well-received by his fans.

The soft-spoken Panganayi said he was not overwhelmed by his newfound fame, but was instead busy polishing up his act.

“Since I released the video, I have been receiving rave views from the fans. I think my fans’ support has been encouraging since I released the video. Generally, I believe the entire album is doing well on the market,” Panganayi said.

“When I started my musical career, people doubted my talent and thought that I could not make it. I started my career almost two years ago. My first album, Love of God, was mainly known in Manicaland province, but on the new album people are calling me from as far as Harare and Bulawayo, speaking glowingly about the album.

“I will continue to shoot more videos as long as funds permit, because I use this to preach the gospel of the Almighty God,” he said

The new album, recorded at Kunashe Studios, has tracks such as Waramba Jesu, Muchato Nhasi, Sing Praise, Rudo Rwazara, Mwari Variko, Bhuku Redofo, NdiJesu and Handina Munyama.
