A 45-YEAR-OLD Marondera woman has been arrested after being found in possession of 52kg of mbanje in her house. The dagga has a street value of over $5 000.

Mashonaland East provincial police spokesperson Inspector Tendai Mwanza confirmed the arrest of Shamiso Gudo of Kakorodzi Street in Dombotombo.

“I confirm the arrest of a Dombotombo woman who was found with two large sacks of mbanje stashed inside her house,” he said.

According to police, on May 22, at around 8pm, officers at Dombotombo Police Station received a tip-off that a white pick-up truck had offloaded some bags of dagga at Gudo’s residence at around 2am the same day.

Police details went to the house and found the accused’s daughter alone. They searched the house and found the two sacks.

They also found two plastic bags containing the drug inside the house. Gudo was arrested when she came home.
