SOUTH Africa-based rapper Mlungisi “Mlue Jay” Moyo has declared that the music industry needs him because he possesses much talent that will influence culture.

The So Dangerous hit-maker will launch his EP (extended play) They Need Me at De Bliss Corner in Bramfontein on July 27.

Mlue Jay spoke to NewsDay Life & Style, from his South Africa base saying he has so much to offer the music industry.

“I am the youngest and most talented rapper and singer of my crop. I have a lot of works I will serve to fans, currently I have released my new EP — They Need Me — which is doing well on online music stores such as Spotify,” he said.

“My EP is simply a message to the industry players that they need me, they need my talent in the music industry and I also want to work more to be accepted.”

They Need Me features four tracks — Shisa Shisa, Uyakhumbula, My Way and Girls featuring Everything’s Ghost — and carries themes on love and partying.

The launch party will feature performances by Everything’s Ghost, Fire Mlilo, Tash Candy, DJ Skeezo, Major King and Loopsta, among others.

The rapper has been winning accolades and getting positive recognition.

He became the latest and one of the few Zimbabwean musicians to be verified on Spotify, one of the biggest online music selling platforms.

Mlue Jay was named the best diaspora artiste at the Changamire Festival Awards and he is vying for the best newcomer gong at this year’s 011 awards in South Africa on June 1.
