POLICE in Bulawayo have launched a manhunt for four armed robbers who attacked a family in Mahatshula on Sunday, and got away with some money and goods.

Bulawayo police spokesperson Chief Inspector Precious Simango told Southern Eye that on Monday, the four masked robbers, who were armed with an iron bar, knocked at the door and got into the house of the complainant, tied his wife’s legs and hands with an electric cord and covered her with a blanket. They went on to assault the husband with fists and the iron bar, demanding money.

Simango said the robbers took away $400 in bond notes, R18 500, two cellphones, a tablet and a sewing machine.

Police warned members of the public to avoid keeping large sums of money in their homes to help reduce cases of robbery and urged people not to attend to unexpected visitors at night.
