Three accident victims died at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals yesterday where they had been admitted.

National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the deaths.

“I confirm that the death toll has risen to 14 following the death of three more victims who were admitted at a local hospital,” Nyathi said.

Eleven people died on the spot, while more than 20 were injured after two commuter omnibuses were involved in a head-on collision at the 49-kilometre peg along the Harare-Nyamapanda Highway.

In a condolence message yesterday, President Emmerson Mnangagwa appealed to drivers, particularly of public transport, to exercise extreme caution on the roads to avoid unnecessary loss of life, particularly during the festive season.
