Zimsec board chairperson Eddie Mwenje said students can start collecting results from their respective schools beginning today with national pass rate at 52,08%, up from 44,73% last year.

Mwenje commended students for performing well in the Agriculture paper which was introduced last year where the pass rate rose to 66,96% up from 48,51% achieved in 2017.

Braille candidates recorded a 61,36% pass rate, national languages recorded the highest subject pass rate with Shona and Tonga pass rate well above 85%, while Nambya and Kalanga recorded around 73% pass rate.

A total of 327 492 candidates sat for this year’s Grade 7 examinations, with female students performing better than their male counterparts.
