THE Warriors, who are a point away from qualifying for the Africa Cup of Nations 2019 finals, could spark tomorrow evening celebrations if they can conjure a positive result in their Group G qualifier against Liberia in Monrovia.
If they manage at least a draw, they will join Senegal, Madagascar, Tunisia and Egypt, who have booked their places in the last round of qualifiers.
Zimbabwe’s senior men’s national team is one of the teams that have a good opportunity to confirm their place at Cameroon 2019 and they are set to claim all the attention among their faithful.
Even if they fail to get the desired result tomorrow, they still have a home match against Congo Brazaville, where they would be favourites to get at least a point.
But they will want to complete the business earlier to avoid the anxiety and pressure that comes with the last match, with the Warriors seeking at least a point, and the home side hard-pressed to get a win and boost their chances of claiming one of the two slots from their group.
Liberia and Congo Brazzaville each have four points, while second-placed Democratic Republic of Congo are a point better, with Zimbabwe sitting pretty on eight.
The hosts are expected to come out flying at the Warriors in search of goals, but Zimbabwe coach Sunday Chidzambga is a master at stopping opponents from playing.
Zimbabwe will be happy to see their hosts coming at them considering the pace they have upfront, where they have skipper Knowledge Musona back in the frame.

He has scored four goals so far in the qualifiers and only Nigeria’s Odion Ighalo, with six, has scored more. This will be Musona’s opportunity to get back to the top of the scoring charts.
George Chigova, who was taken off injured in the first half of their match against DRC, is set to return between the sticks as Zimbabwe look to accomplish their mission.
In the other match, Congo Brazaville will host DRC in a 4:30pm kick-off encounter.
