Patson Roy Ncube of Imsezi village under Chief Beli, is suspected to have died immediately after he was hit by an unknown motorist.

Provincial police spokesperson Siphiwe Makonese said the incident was reported on Monday and it happened at the 3km peg along Tsholotsho-Siphepha road during late hours.

“Ncube was cycling towards Siphepha business centre when an unidentified vehicle hit him from behind, but it remains unclear whether he died immediately or later as there was no witness,” Makonese said.

“He was only seen lying on the road by another villager who tried to resuscitate him but he had already passed away. He sustained fractured legs, his head was seriously injured on the right side together with multiple bruises all over his body and his bicycle was also thrown on.”

Makonese appealed to anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the killer driver.

“This was in rural areas and the person took advantage of that, but we are appealing to the public with information to come forward. The Ncube family, the police and all members need to see the offender being brought to justice. That is why we are appealing to anyone with a tip off.”
