Triangle were first on the score-sheet on the sixth minute through Kudzai Chigwida before Lameck Nhamo added the second in the 59th minute, while Pasca Manhanga sealed the win in the referee’s optional time.

Rodwell Chinyengetere scored the visitors’ consolation 15 minutes before time.

Triangle gaffer Taurai Mangwiro said he was happy with his side’s good showing.

“This was a tough match, we were playing against a good team I want to say well done to my team and tough luck to FC Platinum.They put up a good fight, but we scored at the right moments and they tried very hard in the second half to come back, but my boys played well,” he said

FC Platinum gaffer Norman Mapeza admitted that they lost to a good side and was already looking ahead to their match against Dynamos on Saturday.

“It was good match but we lost to a good side. They converted their chances and we failed. We are still in the race for championship and we are looking ahead of our match against Dynamos,” he said

The visitors who are aiming to retain the league championship suffered an early blow after Chigwida scored in the fifth minute from Rusell Madamombe cross.

Triangle defender Arnold Chivheya suffered a serious injury in the 40th minute and was substituted by Simba Makoni.
