Takudzwa Mandikate (31), Stuart Ziki (23), Archbald Masendeke (28), Wilson Nzula (37), Silvestone (20) and Lloyd Mlanga appeared before Mutare magistrate Tendai Mahwe, who granted them $50 bail each and remanded them to September 10.

Prosecutor Flecher Karombe said on August 26, 2018 the accused persons met the now-deceased along Dobson Road in Yeovil, Mutare.

The accused persons allegedly confronted the now-deceased, who was not named in court papers, and accused him of being a thief. The accused persons assaulted the now-deceased with a golf stick, open hands and booted feet all over his body and he sustained head injuries.

The court heard that Masendeke then took the now-deceased to Mutare Central Police Station where he filed a report of criminal trespass against him.

The man was referred to Mutare General Hospital for medical attention, where he died as a result of injuries sustained during the assault by the accused persons.
