The two were sent packing before the second and final elimination round scheduled for Monday night at which two more models will be evicted to join the first two evictees that were sent home on Monday.

Miss Zimbabwe Trust administrator Christine Matambo told NewsDay Weekender that the decision to expel the models was in line with the pageant’s rules and regulations.

“We are not trying to break the girl child, but to be a bearer of discipline and uphold the pageant’s values so due to their gross indiscipline as evidenced by their negligence of camp rules and activities, we have seen it proper to expel them from Miss World Zimbabwe 2018 boot camp,” she said.

Matambo said the expelled models were found guilty of not showing up for camp activities and refusing to take instructions as well as using denigrating language against fellow models in camp.

“The decision to expel the models was well thought-out from our investigations and observations, apart from information obtained from a secret exercise we conducted with the girls. We tasked them to come up with a name of a model to be eliminated and their names were also mentioned, with reasons that violated our rules and regulations,” she said.

After Monday’s elimination, 14 models will battle for the crown during the pageant’s grand finale to be held under the theme Embracing a Woman as a Symbol of Beauty on September 8 at Orchids Garden in Domboshava, Harare.

The winner will replace the incumbent Chiedza Mhosva.
