THE Mashonaland West Civil Protection Unit yesterday said it was still making frantic efforts to retrieve bodies of the 12 artisanal miners who were trapped underground following a shaft collapse at Eldorado Mine in Chinhoyi on Monday night. Mashonaland West provincial police spokesperson Inspector Clemence Mabgweazara said the process had been hampered by lack of equipment.

“Nothing has been done so far to rescue the people trapped due to lack of the required equipment,” he said.
