Chitembwe demands response

CAPS United coach Lloyd Chitembwe has demanded reaction from his charges ahead of the Sunday blockbuster Castle Lager Premiership clash against Highlanders at Barbourfields Sadium.

The Green Machine suffered a dispiriting 1-2 defeat to Ngezi Platinum at home last week, leaving Chitembwe a disappointed man.

And judging by the team’s training yesterday, he is likely to reshuffle the team, especially at the back, as he seeks to gain lost ground.

This is particularly so, after skipper Stephen Makatuka suffered a harm string injury in that match and will not play a part at the weekend as he recovers.

Chitembwe is likely to deploy Justice Jangano and Godwin Goriathi at the heart of the defence at the expense of Dennis Dauda.

This is likely to see Praise Tonha who played at the right likely to start from the bench. Tonha’s case appeared to have been complicated after he was involved in a bust-up with assistant coach Tostao Kwashi at training but both parties resolved their differences at the end following the intervention of Chitembwe.

“It’s a very big game for us but we have a responsibility, we know what we are supposed to do, we will work hard to get the result we want, and I think that is key for us. Of course everyone was disappointed by the result last week, so we want a reaction against Highlanders. We have to work hard towards achieving our goal. We just have to make sure we get the result we want,” Chitembwe said.

The Caps United gaffer said they were not afraid of Highlanders. “You can’t compare us with Highlanders, we have been dominant in the past five seasons I think. We have lost several players We have to go out there with a positive attitude.”

The 2016 champions are desperate to secure maximum points to get their campaign back on track after an inconsistent performance which has seen them lose two of their last five matches leaving them 13 points off the pace after 11 matches of the campaign.

Caps United believe they can claw back and fight for the championship this season.

  1. A coach and a player relationship. Why players do not respect coaches???

  2. Papa Lodza pane nyaya apo pa defenceve mid hamuone here kuti Kudzi ari kukurirwa uye Dauda is better than JJ .Also why Caps management brought in Matongerere ndipo zvee pane nyaya yose .Ini zvino ngorwadza asi hey muri kuti omesera varume.Uye Bosso yacho kumberi panotoda varume vanonzi varume totoshinga boyz rangu

  3. Maybe Jangano is a disciplined player. Maybe Jangano always grease Chitembwe’s palms. The defender makes silly blunders.

Though i dont support any team locally, the outcome of Bosso vs Caps match will be a draw.
