The company was fined after its top official, Charles Dirwai, pleaded guilty to the charges, when he appeared before magistrate, Josephine Sande.

The court heard that on February 23 this year, the complainant, Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority represented by Delight Dabengwa, visited the service station to check if it was operating in compliance with the Petroleum Act and regulations.

After failing to produce the requisite licence to sell petroleum products, Dirwai was given a seven-day ultimatum to do so, but he failed.

The company had its 15 773 litres of petrol and 11 774 litres of diesel forfeited to the State. Francisca Mukumbiri appeared for the State.
