Seed Co feeds Banket hospital patients

BANKET District Hospital has received a shot in the arm after a local seed producer, Seed Co, provided 2 500kg of maize to feed patients at the health institution. Speaking at the handover ceremony of the grain on Wednesday, Seed Co public relations and communications manager, Marjorie Mutemererwa said the company wanted to ensure food security in the country by fulfilling its obligation to seed and feeding the nation.

“This is our driving force. Wherever there is lack in our nation, we ensure we adopt strategies to bridge the gap,” she said.

Chairperson of the Banket community health council, Jessica Tapfumai, said the donation would go a long way in ensuring that patients at the institution do not starve.

Mutemererwa also encouraged farmers in Banket to also help with vegetables and any other food items that would make a balanced diet for the patients at the hospital.
