This was heard by the Bulawayo magistrate Nyaradzo Ringisai when the matter of Praymore Ndlovu was brought to court.

On Monday, a warrant of arrest was issued against him after he absconded court.

Ndlovu had previously appeared before the same court in February.

The court was told that on January 13, 2017, police officers Philip Kabaura and Malven Murambiwa, based at ZRP Bulawayo Canine, received information that there were some illegal mining activities being carried out in Waterford.

They went to investigate and on arrival, they saw Ndlovu with three others prospecting for gold.

When the group saw the police officers, they all ran away and the police officers gave chase and apprehended Ndlovu.

Ndlovu failed to produce a prospecting licence, leading to his arrest.
