The two-day investment conference, which is being hosted by African Chrome Fields and other partners, comes at a time government is intensifying efforts to court foreign direct investment to stem the biting liquidity crisis.

Russian businessman, Victor Tskhovrebov, who is the chief executive officer of Liberation Mining, one of the biggest companies in the European country, will make the list of speakers at the conference. Tskhovrebov has already indicated that his company was ready to pour cash into the country. ACF’s national projects coordinator Ashruf Kaka, who also serves as chief advisor for South Africa-based Moti Group, will also speak on the company’s practical experiences in investing in Zimbabwe and the future prospects.

“The new political leadership under President Mnangagwa has been proactive in engaging businesses in all sectors and has begun to institute the necessary reforms that will catapult Zimbabwe into a prosperous future. The opportunities in the mining sector in particular, are immense,” Kaka said ahead of the conference.

Mines minister Winston Chitando and Finance minister Patrick Chinamasa will also join 30 other speakers for the two-day conference to push the Zimbabwe-is-open-for-business agenda which has become Mnangagwa’s leadership mantra.

Other speakers include Rama Ayman, who is CEO of MMG Capital, with over 25 years of metals and mining corporate finance experience.

Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe governor John Mangudya will also be part of the conference as the monetary authorities throw their weight in granting investors access to their money once in Zimbabwe.
