The $10 000-tournament will be officially launched early next year.

Mutare City Rovers spokesperson, Clayton Masekesa said they are hoping to win the tournament, where the local authority side is set to fight for honours with former Premiership side, Buffaloes, Tenax and Masvingo-based side, Mucheke United.

“Where there is money, there is bound to be a high level of commitment and competition. So as a team, we are geared for this and we hope that the players will be in the right frame of mind,” he said

Buffaloes secretary and spokesperson, Arnold Gatsi said they are also looking forward to the tournament.

“We are looking forward to the tournament and we want to win it at all cost. We missed out on Premiership promotion, so we so this is the chance to lift our spirit,’’ he said.

Eastern Region secretary-general, Wisdom Simba said finer details of the tournament will be revealed at the official launch early next year.
