ZPC Kariba surged ahead on the 22 minutes through Talent Chamboko who was assisted by Raphael Manuvire after a cautious approach in the initial stages of the game.

ZPC Kariba tried to find a second goal to kill the game as a contest, but the Triangle defence resisted with Donald Dzvinyai proving a rock at the back.

Triangle equalised in the 38th minute through Ralph Kawondera (Jr) who flicked a Raphael Madamombe free kick into the net after it hit the post.

In the second half both teams threw caution to the wind as they searched for a winner. Both coaches made substitutions with ZPC Kariba coach Sunday Chidzambwa bringing in veteran Limited Chikafa for Fransisco Zekumbawire but the latter missed three clear chances in the 87th, 89th and 91st minutes.

Chidzambwa said although they were in control of the game, they struggled with the final pass.

“We played very well and we were in control of the game, but out strikers were not sharp enough to make a difference. Our opponents had only one chance and scored, but we will keep soldiering on in our next game against army side Black Rhinos” Chidzambwa said. Triangle coach Taurai Mangwiro was a happy man with an away point.

“We are happy to come out with a point away from home against a team like ZPC Kariba. We are not under pressure since we are safe from the murky waters of relegation,” Mangwiro said.
