Opinion:Don’t pitch your tent in the zoo

Opinion & Analysis
“Over the years, I have watched many aspire for success. I am one of them and while I haven’t peaked yet, I have had a good share of success already. Sometimes I am often asked what my ‘secret’ to success is. I don’t think they are ‘secrets’, but every one of us needs to have a formula that works for him/her personally,” observed Donald Trump in his book Think Like a Champion.

Why do people have more questions that surround the area of success? What is the zeal about?

It’s because success is engraved in humanity. It’s theirs to enjoy. It’s part of their life anatomy. That cannot be denied.

The camel’s story

A story is told of a mother and a baby camel that were lying under a tree. It is said the little camel went to its mother and asked, “why do camels have humps?” the mother pondered on the question.

She then answered: “We are desert animals so we have the humps to store water, so that we can survive with very little water.”

The little one was listening. After a short while, it brought up another seemingly challenging question.

The question still revolved around how the camel was created. As the questions were being fired it might have sounded fun, but it meant a lot. It had a great moral lesson behind it.

Why are our legs long?

The little camel continued: “Okay…. why are our legs long and our feet rounded?” The mother went further and said they were meant to walk in the desert.” What a conversation. A really educative, engaging and powerful one.

As though it wasn’t enough, a third question was raised by the little one.

“Why are our eyelashes long?” Sometimes they get in my way.” The mother then said those long eyelashes protect your eyes from the desert sand when it blows in the wind.”

Get out of the zoo and do what you were mearnt to

Amazed by these responses the little one then said: “I see, so the hump is to store water when we are in the desert, the legs are for walking throughout the desert and these eyelashes protect our eyes, but then why are we in the zoo?”

This is exactly how your life is. You have the skill. You are blessed with the talent and the drive, but you want to keep stagnant in that position. The lower end of mediocrity. Why?

You want to think and believe that you can’t.

It is not that you can’t. It’s only that you positioned your life in the wrong place. You are parked in the wrong bay which is likely to take you into the wrong lane.

Do not pitch your tent in the zoo

You are now relaxed in the zoo. That is not where you were made to be. You were made for the rough terrain. The tougher conditions. Get out.

Why pity yourself? Never be a cry-baby.

“There is one thing stronger than all the armies of the world, and that is an idea whose time has come,” once noted Victor Hugo.

This is now your hour.

The masterpiece life

Your life can only proportionally expand in the way you stretch your mental tenacity.

Stretch yourself much bigger, you will find yourself venturing into more powerful territories than these.

You will find yourself on familiar grounds. These are the grounds that you were meant for. The grounds that are higher than the usual ones.

You are gifted beyond measure. Powerful beyond your current exhibited potential.

You are a powerful explosive that is ready to explode. But you have stayed in that position for too long.

Life is funny. When you get to the wrong station, you will still find others with you in that wrong station.

Chances are also very high that you will think that you are going to the same destination with them. Yes it could be true, but you will be heading in just a wrong direction.

The problem

While waiting you may assume the life train is not coming. You may wait and wait, but the train won’t.

The problem is not the train, but your wrong position. Change your position and everything will change.

Don’t ever think that life will move without you moving it in the right direction.

You have to see the life dots. See them clearly and strategically see how you will connect them. Once they get connected, your life will be connected. It can be done. Be blessed.
