FC Platinum are two points clear of Dynamos and if they win their match against Chapungu, they will win the title.

If Chapungu avoid defeat against FC Platinum, Dynamos will win the title but only if they also win their own match.

Mutasa admitted that Chapungu are a strong side with a good home record and he will be hoping that the airmen get something against FC Platinum.

“And when you look at Chapungu, history tells that they are good at home. They came to Bulawayo and came up with a good result (3-1) against Bulawayo City away from home.

“We played them at home and we scored at the death, meaning the game was tightly contested. So we are saying anything can happen in football and you cannot rule out a surprise,” Mutasa said.

But he also knows that his team faces a tough task when they take on Chicken Inn.

He said it will not be easy against Chicken Inn, who have been Dynamos’ bogey side in the league.

“It is unfortunate that Chicken Inn are some points away from us but you don’t underrate a Rahman Gumbo-coached side. Chicken Inn played good football this season and I thought they were one of the teams that could go to the wire but here and there you might not have some good results. You look at Rahman Gumbo and the way he conducts things and the material he has. They have done well and I would not say the last game would be an advantage to us because a game against Chicken Inn is never one-sided. It’s another tough encounter that we are bracing for,” the Dynamos gaffer added.

Having had a difficult off-season where they lost a number of their key players, Dynamos have defied odds and have pushed on and are on the brink of glory.

“If you see how we have progressed as an institution, a big institution like ours, we went for trials (pre-season), we got players here and there and then we grouped them and we challenged for honours.

“It is not because we are great but it is because of the grace of the Lord. We believe in grace and I am sure the Lord will not disappoint us,” Mutasa said.

FC Platinum beat Ngezi Platinum Stars 2-1 at Mandava on Saturday to put themselves in firm control of their own destiny.
