The municipality-owned side were relegated from the top-flight league last season and yesterday they ensured that PSL football returned to Mutare.

They went into their match against Buffaloes needing just a point to guarantee their promotion, but they were emphatic in their win.

Former Harare City player Hebron Makukutu opened the floodgates before veteran striker Evans Chikwaikwai increased his side’s lead.

Stephen Sibanda scored the third goal before Huseni Zvakavapano put the final nail on the coffin late in the match. Rovers will play Prime Rangers in their last match of the season, which will be academic.
