Mutandwa told NewsDay Weekender that he was ready to jump over all the hurdles standing in his way as he reached for that long-cherished dream and walk in the footsteps of other Zimbabweans — Munyaradzi Chidzonga, Pokello Nare, Wendall Parson and Vimbai Mutinhiri — who have participated in the show.

“I understand that it is not so easy to achieve this. But my wish is to be in the big brother house and win the money, because I believe I will represent Zimbabwe one day,” he said.

Mutandwa said should the chance avail itself and he goes on to win the big prize, he would share the proceeds with the needy.

The multi-talented fashion model is also a musician, presenter and an actor.

He said his involvement in a lot of things has never affected his career as a fashion model, but has changed his life for the better.

“When it’s music time, I dedicate it to music and when I am called to present a show or to model, I also commit my time. So, it’s always one thing at a time. This has changed my life because I have had the opportunity to work with some of the most well-known designers in Africa,” he said.

Mutandwa said his career as a model has been richly-rewarding as it “paid good money” and afforded him the chance to meet international models like Xander Prattes and Paul Langer.

“I have become a better person,” he said.

Mutandwa has participated in modelling runway shows at the Rashy Fashion Show, Ngugi Vele Fashion Show, Hastings Fashion Show in South Africa and Mama Red Show in Zambia.

He has also taken part in showcasing clothing lines for some well-known designers in Zimbabwe including Racheal, Coco, K7, Lorraine and Chenna Nenni Fashion.

Being in commercial modelling for the past seven years, Mutandwa said it was never a hobby, but a path that he chose to take as a career driven by his passion.

Mutandwa said his biggest dream is to own a modelling agency, host shows, have a clothing line and help up-and-coming models by grooming, mentoring and becoming a role model for them or people out there.
