The gold miners beat Caps United 3-1 in Harare in July with goals from Kudakwashe Musharu, Thembani Masuku and Pacsca Manhanga, but today they face an well-oiled Green Machine that has gone 10 matches without a defeat, sitting on the fifth spot on the log eyeing a possible top-four finish.

Caps United started the season on a low note, but since their Dynamos defeat they have managed six wins and four draws, hauling themselves up in the log table to position five with 50 points.

They are just four points ahead of How Mine and the gold miners’ coach Kelvin Kaindu said Caps United are coming down to Luveve determined to beat them after the defeat at the National Sports Stadium.

“We beat them in the first round, but this time around they have been playing well. They are the team who are nearer to us on the log table. They have been very consistent and it is a good thing playing a team that has been this consistent. We are ready for them,” Kaindu said.

How Mine will be missing central defender Frank Mukarati due to suspension.

Mukarati has brilliantly partnered Zambian Makundika Sakala at the back, but Kaindu said they have cover in Kudzai Chideu, who has been on the sidelines for three months due to injury.

The gold miners, who beat Yadah FC 1-0 last weekend in Harare, have been using utility player Milton Ncube as defensive link man with veteran Musharu and Timothy January upfront.

Lloyd Chitembwe’s side were held to a 1-1 draw by relegation-threatened Hwange at the weekend after beating Highlanders 3-1 in a midweek rearranged fixture at the National Sports Stadium, which saw Dominic Chungwa grab a brace to take his tally to 14 goals in the scorers’ chart in line for the 2017 Golden Boot award.

Caps United troop to Bulawayo with skipper Hardlife Zvirekwi, Devon Chafa and John Zhuwawu as they plot How Mine’s downfall to close the gap on Chicken Inn and forge ahead for a top four finish with four games to go before the end of the season.
