The suspect, Victor Tamanikwa, was not asked to plead when he appeared before magistrate Josephine Sande, who remanded him out of custody to November 28 this year.

According to the court papers, the complainant in the matter is Zimsec represented by the English subject manager Christopher Kariyo.

It is the State’s case that on October 27 this year, detectives received information that Tamanikwa was in possession of this year’s English Paper 2 examination questions.

Acting on the said information, the detectives proceeded to Mabvuku, where they arrested Tamanikwa and found him in possession of a Samsung mobile phone, which had in its gallery, a Zimsec November 2017 English Paper 2 examination paper.

Tamanikwa was then taken to the police station for further investigation, where Kariyo was asked to bring the original copy, which was matched and it was discovered that the contents were the same, leading to his arrest. Linda Gadzikwa appeared for the State.
